Hanna Gasanova

When Hanna Gasanova arrived in Sweden in January 2002, the natural environment and it’s vividly coloured landscapes inspired her pointillistic and decorative artwork. The motifs of her paintings tell the important stories of place, people and events. “I’m an artist who is inspired by the colours of the seasons. Colours are an important part of my art.”

Initially training in architecture, she studied at the University of Azerbaijan in the department of Architecture and Construction in her home town of Baku, Azerbaijan. During her time working as an architect, she has designed and overseen the completion of numerous large scale residential projects.

In 2008, she undertook further studies in the Civil Engineering Program at Örebro University, Sweden. She has also studied pedagogy at Medborgarskolan Örebro and has worked in the pedagogy space for many years and continues to implement these learnings within her practice today.

She began her career as a full-time visual artist in 2005. Since then Hanna has exhibited locally and internationally including being selected for an international grand museum exhibition at Museum of Contemporary Art Beijing (MoCA Beijing) entitled “The Crossroads of the World: Construing Visual Meanings in Contemporary Art” organized by Pashmin Art Consortia from Hamburg and MoCA Beijing. The project resulted in a museum group exhibition in Beijing, China in 2019. In the summer of 2019, she completed an additional exhibition in Homburg (Saar), Germany. Hanna also received an invitation from the Lessedra Art Gallery in Sofia, Bulgaria where she exhibited seven miniatures in acrylic during December 11 - February 28, 2019/2020

Hanna currently resides in Sweden and works for both local and international private collectors. She is available for commission upon request.
