町田 李句 (Riku Machida)

Incredibly skilled in the art of line drawing, Japanese artist Riku Machida has garnered substantial acclaim for her meticulously rendered depictions. Following the inspiration of past master illustrators like Art Nouveau icon Alphonse Mucha and Ukiyo-e innovator Hiroshige Utagawa, Machida infuses her work with an incredible passion for precision. At the same time, she uses her art as a means to express her affinity for LGBTQ culture, thereby infusing the concept of history with a refreshing air of the contemporary world.

Born in 1992, Machida is largely a self-taught artist and is currently based in the capital city of Tokyo. She works primarily as a freelance illustrator and, in addition to several exhibitions of her work, has enjoyed a remarkable array of clientele across industries ranging from the internet and television to print publications. Most notably, she contributed illustrations in 2019 for advertising campaigns for both Subaru and Konica Minolta.
