“I live in Bünde, a small town in Germany. My home is in the countryside with my husband, son and two pug dogs. I studied graphic design in Germany and graduated with a diploma, then I moved to the Netherlands, to complete a degree in art therapy.

My creative practice consists of designing fabric patterns, surface design, illustrations and some lettering. Other successful artists, children’s book illustrators and fabric designers and creative companies inspire me.

I paint illustrations digitally on an iPad Pro using the Procreate app, or by hand in watercolour. Then I finish the designs and illustrations in Adobe Photoshop. I like to cultivate a diverse aesthetic and explore different styles. My designs are playful, colourful, motivating and sometimes feature complex elements. I think it’s important to be customer-oriented and flexible with my clients.

I am currently designing fabrics for a German fabric dealer and producer, and I also design Converse Allstar Chuck Taylor shoes for ‘Happiness is Customized’, another German company. In addition to my client work, I have my own Spoonflower shop called Lamalou_Design. In the future, I aim to incorporate more lettering into my fabric designs. I have participated in a charity project creating a colouring book for children in a children’s home, and I’d like to expand my skills to illustrate children’s books. At present, I am not represented by a creative agency or an art agent, and I welcome collaborations with new clients.”
