Séverine Bourgeois

Séverine Bourgeois was born at the end of the 1980s, somewhere in the south of France, a special land with dazzling light and sparkling sky. She still lives in this region, where she completed her studies in contemporary art.

Her deep interest in anatomical and botanical plates appears through her creations as an intricate hybrid universe. Exploration of the human body and nature is tangled with the research of a poetic distortion.

Ink is her favourite and basic language, the beginning of all things. She enhances her ink drawings with hints of graphite, gouache, or digital tools.

After being one of the 2012’s laureates of the Emerging Artist Award, the little seeds of her work have spread through Europe, USA and the Middle East.
