Moss Hioto
Moss Hioto is an illustrator based in Tokyo, Japan. Her work is inspired by her appreciation for nature and living creatures. She majored in zoology in college and subsequently attended a picture book school to study illustration and develop her storytelling skills.
Her relationship with art began at a young age. When Moss was a child, she was captivated by ukiyo-e print artists like Hokusai, which led her to experiment with woodcuts. Today, she enjoys watercolour painting and drawing with her Apple pencil.
Moss loves spending time in nature, eating and exercising, and she reflects these interests in her artwork. She explains, “My work brings enjoyment to the viewer, because my artworks are inspired by my heart’s delight.”
She welcomes opportunities to collaborate with new clients, and her work is suitable for a variety of projects including editorial illustration, print posters and packaging collateral.
