Sumika Yamate
Sumika Yamate (b. 1992) is an illustrator living in Japan. She produces her illustrations using paint and stamps. In 2015 she graduated from Joshibi University of Art and Design where she studied Visual Design, at the Department of Design and Crafts.
She started working as a freelance illustrator in 2017. In addition to her illustration projects, Sumika frequently participates in art book events.
Her creative studio provides illustrations for clients operating in a diverse range of fields, including package design and store graphics. Sumika embraces the opportunity to collaborate with new clients and welcomes enquiries via email.
“I am strongly attracted to the people, culture, food and colours of the places I encounter on my journeys, and I incorporate them into my illustrations. I am particularly interested in colours, and my illustrations are characteristically colourful.”
