Alice Colas

Alice Colas (b.1992) is an art director, storyteller and graphic designer based in Paris, France. She studied art and design in Toulouse for three years. After graduation, Alice spent the next two years in Paris, studying advertising and communication. She says, “I learned how to build a thought, how to make sense with images and colours, and also how not to care about it.” Alice favours traditional techniques and appreciates the tactile nature of paper, basic pens and wax crayons.

Alice is an environmental and feminist activist who is inspired by women, anatomy and nature. She cites Klimt and Schiele as visual influences, and also finds inspiration from authors and writers. Alice enjoys experimenting with themes and textures, explaining, “I love to create between slowness and energy, softness and roughness. I’m trying to express what ‘feminine’ means today.”

Today, Alice works in advertising as a graphic designer and art director for agencies including BETC, Havas and Publicis alongside her successful freelance practice. Her clients include Adidas, Veuve-Clicquot, Estee Lauder and Opera National de Paris - where her artwork is also exhibited.

She is available for commission upon request.
