Ashley Salim

Freelance illustrator Ashley Salim (known online as asuartsu or simply Asu) uses her adoration for the soft hues of watercolour to create playful, fantastical imagery that is immediately captivating. From illustrations to 3D work, Salim reveals her careful study of form and colour so that her audience can become directly absorbed into the world she conjures in each composition.  

Currently based in Sydney, Australia, Salim’s art journey began with classic doodles in high school classes that soon turned into a passion for artistic exploration of character and design. Motivated with this love for art, she eventually pursued a BA degree in 3D Art & Animation at Technical and Further Education Design Centre Enmore. Salim was nominated for the SHAPE exhibition in 2016 and also participated in the Revel Artbook, a charity publication designed to raise money for the SickKids Foundation in Toronto, Canada. Salim is currently in the process of establishing her own online marketplace for her work.
