Joanna Ogrodniczak
Exemplifying a rejuvenated playfulness in her style as an illustrator and artist, Joanna Ogrodniczak has developed a body of work that balances the tensions between the cartoonish and the complex, between the simple and the sophisticated. Working across various media, from linocuts to digital design, Ogrodniczak is not tethered to one style or format. Rather, she follows her creative vision in whatever direction it may lead. The result is an oeuvre that is unexpected, unique, and overflowing with compelling points of reference to the larger art historical canon.
Ogrodniczak is based in Liège, Belgium, and earned a degree in illustration from the St Luc Liège Art School in 2017. She since trained in the field of animation with Waooh! Studio between 2017 and 2019. In 2018, she enjoyed participating in an exhibition for architecture students at the Boverie Museum in Liège.
