柴寅 Shibatora
Shibatora is a designer and illustrator born in Nagoya, Japan, where he still lives. Although he dropped out of full-time education aged 18, at 25 – realising that it was his dream to return to his childhood illustrations – he returned to study for a year for his high school diploma. When he began his further education at design school, he revelled in working alongside contemporaries much younger than himself, learning from them the world of social media. Through this, he was exposed to many more styles of illustration and was inspired by numerous illustrators and friends he met online such as Chinatsu Kurahana. Shibatora says that it is thanks to social media that the world of illustrations has expanded for him, offering him many encounters, opportunities and excitement.
His drawings are in the style of manga, and his subjects are mainly women. He produces his artwork using applications such as Adobe Photoshop and CLIPSTUDIO.
