Shane Johnson
Shane Johnson has been developing and honing his artistic talent ever since he taught himself how to draw at the age of eight. Experimentation is at the heart of his creative practice, and Shane is continually developing and discovering new techniques to help him evolve his iconic style. He enjoys producing commissioned work for friends and fans and has built a network of followers online.
He attended the top art college Tribeca Flashpoint, but despite ending his studies early, Shane was undeterred from following his dream. Most of his work is inspired by horror and death metal album covers. The aesthetic of dive bar music venues has influenced his aggressive, dark style. He finds inspiration in the work of artists like HR Giger, Karl Kapenski, Kim Jung Gi, Junji Ito and Nivanh Chanthara.
Shane is currently working with Your Passion Chicago, a talent program where artists and project managers collaborate to help their community and generate new opportunities for creatives working in visual arts, performing arts and music.
