Larissa Saloranta
Freelance illustrator and character designer Larissa Saloranta finds the most significant source of her current inspiration to be nature and the sense of serenity it can bring. She is inherently an observer and a documenter of the world around her, and her ability to tap into this sense of natural solitude is tangible in her impressive body of work. Adding to this tangibility is the element of playfulness that she weaves through her creations, which adds a universally refreshing element to her style.
Currently based in Finland, Saloranta earned her Bachelor of Culture and Arts degree in the field of digital media from Kymenlaakso University of Applied Sciences (also known as KyAMK). Since graduating in 2013, Saloranta has illustrated children’s books and worked on multiple children’s literature projects. She has also enjoyed ample opportunity to showcase her work in a variety of venues. Her latest solo exhibition titled Imaginations was in Poikilo Art Museum Gallery in Poikilo, Finland in 2018.
