Sandra Mason

 
 

Sandra Mason is an illustrator and visual effects artist based in Melbourne, Australia. Her formal training spans a range of creative disciplines including photography, fashion design and graphic design. In her mid 20’s, Sandra and her best friend founded IMOK, a creative / street brand. The brand was born through the stencil era that hit the streets in 2004. Sandra’s experience running IMOK provided her with a plethora of skill sets that have aided her on her journey as a solo artist. 

During the early stages of her career, Sandra’s creative influences originated from graffiti and street style aesthetics. Over time, her tastes slowly moved towards the fluid and whimsical illustrations of Amy Sol and Audrey Kawasaki. The beauty of the feminine figure and how it’s illustrated fascinates her and has become the foundation of her signature style. 

Her creative process begins with a hand-drawn illustration which she then develops into a watercolour painting and finally, a design of alcohol ink. These different layers are then merged into a digital program to create the final work.

In 2018 she hosted her first solo exhibition In Flow that showcased some of her best work to date. The following year, Sandra was invited to exhibit her Zodiac Series at RAW – Ignite Show in Melbourne. 

Sandra has found her true place when she connects her creative side with her spiritual side. The Zodiac Series marks the start of her new journey, and she continues to delve deeper into this type of work.
