Hitomi Tawo
Japanese artist Hitomi Tawo seeks to seduce her viewer with compelling imagery. She uses bold colours and references Vivienne Westwood, Ader Error and the designers of COMME des GARCONS among her chief inspirations. Tawo brings a unique energy to her undeniably infectious work. While she seeks to create fashionable images, she also hopes to convey a sense of the surreal, unsettling the viewer of her work to the point that the image itself can become its own fetish in the future.
Based in Tokyo, Japan, Tawo studied product design at university and graduated as a web designer in 2015. After several years working for popular Japanese advertising agencies and design companies, Tawo transitioned into a freelance designer role for greater freedom in her artistic process. She continues to explore new avenues for her art.
