Antonina Łyczkowska (Antanna)
Antonina Łyczkowska, signing her work as Antanna, is a 20-year-old illustrator based in Poland. As a child, she was highly influenced by the realistic works of Marcel Marlier, rich in colour and full of details. She was first published at the age of eight, where she released a poetry book accompanied by a collection of drawings titled, The Song of A Butterfly (Motyla pieśń). Through the years, she took many art classes and courses, her works have been recognised in several local competitions and featured twice in a regional culture bulletin.
While creating her pieces, Antanna takes inspiration from her childhood stories and nature. She wants her art to be more about transferring moods and emotions, rather than just commenting on reality. By the use of bright, vibrant colours, Antanna tries to show a world that is a little deceptive. She works traditionally, mainly in coloured pencils and acrylics.
Currently, Antanna pursues her studies in French translation and intends to continue her work in picture books and editorial illustration.
