Susana Garcia Alonso (Sugalon) aims to capture colour on the move. Passionate about all types of art, but particularly watercolour, She finds inspiration in the work of watercolourists Jean Haines, Yuko Nagayama and Janine Gallizia.
Alongside her personal watercolour projects, Susana creates custom made illustrations. Her freelance clients include scientific magazines and businesses such as ABB, Newsoft, MTAL. mqSemi and Tangerine but also many private customers. She has exhibited her artwork in group shows in Spain, England and Switzerland.
“I am a Spanish illustrator living in Switzerland for 20 years. I have a bachelor degree in art, with a speciality in illustration from Murcia School of Arts, Spain. In the last years, I have developed my watercolour skills following many workshops from well-known artists.
For me, watercolour is technically the ultimate frontier, and I find it a pity that the use of such a wonderful medium is not currently widespread in commercial illustration.
in my work, I try to capture the simplicity and the beauty of the moment - the essence of life passing by in small things. Trying to capture light and emotion fascinates me.”
