Gemma Birks
Gemma Birks is a freelance artist specialising in 2D digital art. She is a BA Hons graduate of Staffordshire University, and currently lives and works in Newcastle-under-Lyme, England.
She is largely enamoured by the human face, and a common aspect of her work is the recurring use of profile shots. She enjoys the pleasing lines and shapes it allows, in addition to lending a 2D feel to the drawing while retaining three-dimensional elements through the use of careful shading and colour.
Her main passion is digital portrait drawing. Gemma’s personal projects focus on realism and semi-realism. Her freelance practice involves creating custom commissions for clients, ranging from simple logo designs and figures to detailed sketches and paintings. She believes it is essential for clients to be an integral aspect of her creative process, and Gemma welcomes feedback and collaborative direction to produce the most impactful and effective outcome for her clientele.
