Anna Hunter
Anna Hunter is a visual designer and illustrator currently based in central Arkansas.
She earned her BA in Studio Art from Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas and received her MFA in Illustration at the Savannah College of Art and Design in May 2020.
Inspired by artists such as Edward Hopper, Pam Wishbow, Karl James Mountford, Mary Blair, Andre Ducci, Evind Earle and Edward Gorey, her work is made up of the colourful characteristics of folklore that intrigue and ensnare the imagination.
She illustrates her figurative subjects with decorative and playful textures, preferring to work in ink and gouache, or, when working digitally, using Adobe Photoshop while keeping to a bright but limited colour palette.
In 2012 she participated in a senior show at Hendrix College, followed by the RAW: Holiday RAWK show in Atlanta in December of 2019. She has featured in the Aonian Literary Magazine in 2011 and 2012, the Graduate Illustration Club’s Anthology in 2019, and the Port City Review in 2020.
