Aaron Aguilar
Using his own lived experience and Chicanx heritage to inform his dynamic body of work, illustrator Aaron Aguilar conjures whimsical, queer and transgender themes in his digital art. Invoking the power of bold colour and imaginative expression, Aguilar calls forth his inspirations from his overall zest for life and his desire to share some of himself in the work he creates.
Based in San Jose, California, Aguilar is currently completing his BFA in Animation/Illustration at San Jose State University. He specialises in visual development as well as character and environment design but also has experience within the realm of film. He currently works as a freelance illustrator with a variety of clients. One of his recent notable projects was his work on Malinchista Short Film in collaboration with Flora Rees-Arredondo. Aguilar is currently accepting new clients and is excited about the potential of new collaborations in future once he completes his degree.
