Amylia Faizal

Amylia Faizal is a self-taught abstract artist residing in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei. 

Since she was young, Amylia knew that she was creative by nature. In 2016, after having bought some cheap paint brushes, art paper and student grade watercolours intended for her daughter, she decided to give painting a try. From December 2018 to July 2019, she has successfully exhibited eight of her finest artworks at two separate exhibitions in Brunei.

Her artworks are mostly a reflection of her inner expression with a mission to spread peace, love and joy. “Having an appreciation for my intuition, I allow this element of my life to transform all my emotions and consciousness into an art form. It is only through self-expression that I got to know myself better”.

Amylia creates her work primarily using watercolour, gouache, ink pens, coloured pencils and pastels. These materials allow her to create very vibrant and intricate patterns. “I use lots of shapes in my work as a way for me to bring dimension and meaning to my paintings, and the galactical background represents the vastness and limitlessness of life.”
