Saskia Salamon
Visual artist, Saskia Salamon describes her abstract paintings as ‘colourful, full of energy and feelings’. Her distinctive aesthetic is characterised by her use of vibrant colours and an abstract expressive, dynamic painting style. She works intuitively using a range of mixed media techniques. Unusually, Saskia never uses a traditional brush to make her marks, preferring to utilise tools such as a scraper and found materials to produce her compelling artworks. She doesn’t title her pieces, as she believes that this enables a painting to ‘live on’.
Saskia explains, “I can’t talk well about feelings or thoughts, but I can paint them. For me, art is a liberation of my feelings and thoughts. So for me, art means expression, energy and unfolding of yourself.”
Through her art, Saskia aims to visualise the energy of the Earth. She finds inspiration in the diverse beauty found in Berlin, where she currently resides, and in the broader world. She often travels to experience the different cultures that influence her artwork. She says, ‘‘Wherever my art hangs, I hope to make that little world of each individual a bit more colourful and beautiful because colours make the world more vibrant and happy.”
Saskia began showing her work in 2017 and has developed an international audience though exhibitions in Germany, Portugal, the USA and Hong Kong.
She welcomes the opportunity to collaborate with new clients and is available for private commissions.
