Snack Braff

Mass media of the 90s, in particular, cartoons including Matt Groening’s The Simpsons and Hanna-Barbera’s The Flintstones are common subjects featured in the work of contemporary pop artist Snack Braff (David Richardson). His representation of these characters are often distorted or feature unnerving expressions to reflect and comment on the current social and economic climate. “I throw them through the distorted lens of present-day reality.”

His unique aesthetic is characterised by the thick outlines used to define his characters and graphic elements popularised in commercial art of the 80s and 90s.

An active member of his local creative community, Snack Braff has exhibited in numerous group shows throughout his home city of Dallas and has recently completed a solo exhibition in Fort Worth, Texas.
