Kailing Lo
Contemporary Hong Kong-based painter Kailing Lo combines her passion for horse riding and fine art in her compelling and energetic equestrian paintings.
She is a talented musician, classically trained in piano throughout her childhood. Her admiration of classical composers, including Chopin, Beethoven, Liszt, and Rachmaninov has become powerfully influential to her artwork.
Having spent two decades living in the United Kingdom, she would frequently visit the museums in London admiring and sketching sculptures. Self-trained, she learnt her skills independently from many other great artists.
Kailing leverages oil paint, pastel and acrylic paint to produce her artwork. She works with the motto “Less brushstroke, more content”, while developing a distinct and recognisable aesthetic.
She recently participated in The Equine Art Show (May 2019), sponsored by Ophelia, HK. Currently, her first solo art show titled “The Ego & the ID” is to be held at the PMQ, Hong Kong.
