Kat Kleinman
Retiring after many years of service as a psychotherapist working with the homeless, Kat now seeks to create artwork that makes all those viewing it feel better, if only for a moment. “I specialise in creating vibrant floral collages because the individual flowers, when combined, create new and cohesive forms, reflective of the healing process. I am also enthusiastic about the therapeutic potential of colour to positively influence emotions, ultimately leading to better relationships between people.”
She describes herself as saddened by the self-centred rhetoric expressed by current influential leaders. She is dedicated to creating art inspired by compassion, meditation and action that will positively influence society.
Her collages are created with her photographs, and each flower is hand-cut, a process she finds to be meditative. A single collage may require dozens of individual blossoms.
Her works have been highlighted in numerous publications, and she has showcased her work in major exhibitions throughout the United States. Kat’s work has also gained international attention, most notably her work was showcased at the Contemporary Art Station, Shibuya Station Exhibition (2019) in Tokyo, Japan.
Kat continues to produce her floral collages from her home studio in Sacramento, California (US). She is available for commission upon request.
