Sarita Dal Pozzo
Contemporary artist Sarita Dal Pozzo has already accomplished more in her career as an artist than most would in a lifetime.
After completing studies in fashion design at ESMOD, School of Art and Fashion (São Paulo, Brazil), she had a successful 20-year career as a fashion designer working with brands such as Ellus, Levi’s and Zoomp. During this period she volunteered more than a decade of her time at the IPÊ (Institute for Ecological Research) in Nazaré, Paulista. Here she helped develop products for their project Sewing the Future — the project provides income for disadvantaged families in the surrounding area and also advocates for the conservation of biodiversity.
Sarita is also a prolific writer and has authored three books which were released at the Livraria Cultura and Book Bienal (São Paulo, Brazil). Her latest title, Always After Midnight, was released in 2019 and is currently available for purchase via Amazon.
In addition to fashion and writing, Sarita is also a passionate visual artist. She began painting in the early 90s and soon fell in love with the process of creating collages. She originally produced these works with analogue techniques but now creates her work digitally.
Inspiration for her work is fed by tropical flora and fauna. Storytelling is also a large part of her inspiration and practice. She is particularly passionate about telling the unique life stories of the people that reside in her home city of Milan, Italy.
Applications for her work include fashion, textiles and a wide range of home decor. She also works as a visual merchandiser creating dynamic window displays for retail stores.
She recently exhibited her work at the opening of Milano Fashion Week 2019 at Palazzo Bocconi, Event Savò.
She is available for commission upon request.
