Netti Henselmans
Netti Henselmans is a Dutch visual artist, who studied visual arts in her need to understand ‘HOW ?’
She thinks the self is fragmented in direct relationships with people and everyday affairs.
At times in a timeline, it finds a way out in images, materials and staging. Her works set out the preliminary conclusion, and show the relentless struggle between who we really are and what we can show. The result is not unequivocal. It is layered and only partially transparent. Our full face never appears in the sunlight.
Currently, Netti works mostly with glass (blowing and casting) and translucent ceramics. Her academic background includes photography and film studies at the Academy for Visual Arts, Photography, Tilburg.
Netti is also an art teacher, a climate-vegetarian and likes a little bit of sugar in her coffee.
