Sabiyha Prince
Sabiyha Prince is an artist and anthropologist whose abstract paintings and collages grapple with the impacts of history, memory, identity, and societal injustice. Her work is colourful, energetic, and diverse in form - vacillating between presentations of soft flowing curves to more graphic presentations examining human challenge through themes aptly reflected in the title of her creative brand Beauty and Justice.
Prince has exhibited paintings in DC at The Anacostia Arts Center, The Hill Center and The Zenith Gallery. In 2018, eight of her paintings were hung at Hank’s Cocktail Bar through her affiliation with the Petworth Artists Collective. One currently hangs at the headquarters of Empower DC while the University of Massachusetts purchased the rights to use another for their 2019 conference on feminist anthropology.
