Ivan Murzin
Ivan Murzin is a visual artist from Irkutsk, Siberia, Russia, who currently resides in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. In 2019 he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts Städelschule, Germany. He works with a variety of media including, photography, video art, installations, woodcut printing and etching.
His artistic practice mostly focuses on developing topics such as isolation, escapism, splits in societies, establishing different systems of relations, challenges, mistakes and issues stemming from the loss of voice and lack of communication, which he believes are fundamental to a joined and peaceful life.
Ivan’s artworks have been presented in more than 40 exhibitions (solo and group shows) in various art spaces, institutions, galleries and museums in Germany, Denmark, Russia, Italy, Austria, and Switzerland. His work is held in private collections in Russia, Germany, Denmark and Luxembourg.
