Jo Davidson
The search for a more profound life, deciphering her times here, now on Earth, is at the heart of the creative practice of Australia-based contemporary artist Jo Davidson.
Drawing inspiration, imagery and metaphor from her country, Jo responds to places and events, finding meaning within the complex language of the natural world to help her articulate the impact humanity has upon it.
Having studied at the South Australian School of Art, and for three years throughout Europe, Jo has developed a comprehensive understanding of many media and disciplines. Her practice spans painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, community cultural development, public art, and installation.
Her work is represented in Australian state, private and international collections. She has held 18 solos and over 35 group exhibitions and shared seven residencies with her partner, artist Stephen Killick.
Jo lives and works in Birdwood NSW Mid North Coast and is available for commission upon request.
