Igors Gaivoronskis
Igors Gaivoronskis (professionally known as Gigor) is a watercolour artist with over 25 years experience painting and illustrating. Gigor describes his work as ‘atmospheric thinking.’
Beauty is a common theme in Gigor’s creative practice, he is inspired by flowers, natural landscapes and his wife. The subtle watercolour marbling and bleeding techniques utilised evoke an ethereal and whimsical quality that enhances the delicate nature and beauty of his subjects.
“Life is unpredictable, everything can happen in it, but in the moments of despondency, you just have to take a brush in your hands and plunge into the magic world of watercolor, and as if by magic, all problems disappear and the world is filled up with colors”
Gigor grew up in Lativa, though today resides with his family in Iceland. Following his graduation from fine art school in Riga, he studied textiles at the University of Vitebsk Light Industry (VTILP) in Belarus.
Gigor is active in the creative community and is a proud member of national and international groups including The Association of Icelandic Visual Artists (SIM), Nordic Aquarelle Society (NAS) and the IWS Globe Family.
